Kianja – A Soulful Voice with Deep Roots 🎶✨

Born in North-East LondonKianja grew up surrounded by the sounds of Soul, Reggae, and Jazz. Songwriting and performing became her passion at just 12 years old, a love that only deepened after spending three years in Durban, South Africa. Immersing herself in a new culture, she developed a deep connection to Jazz and refined her songwriting skills.

Returning to London, she studied at the Brit School, Tomorrow's Warriors, and Guildhall, balancing her music education with writing and producing songs from her bedroom.

Her talent and dedication have gained her widespread recognition. Her debut EP ‘Glory’ received BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM, and 1Xtra support, along with a feature on Bastille and Craig David’s cover of En Vogue’s ‘Don’t Let Go’. Since 2023, her independent releases have landed on Spotify’s New Music Friday and several other playlists, as well as in-store soundtracks for M&S and Body Shop. Her music has also received BBC 1Xtra and BBC Radio airplay multiple times.

Born in North-East LondonKianja grew up surrounded by the sounds of Soul, Reggae, and Jazz. Immersing herself in a new culture, she developed a deep connection to Jazz and refined her songwriting skills.

Her music has also received BBC 1Xtra and BBC Radio airplay multiple times.

Live performances have played a key role in Kianja’s journey. Nile Rodgers personally recommended her for a performance at Meltdown Festival at London Southbank. She has also taken the stage at iconic venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, Colors Hoxton, and Royal Festival Hall. In 2024, she performed at Café Koko, All Points East Festival, Somerset House, We Out Here Festival, and Koko Ellens Room, as well as touring as a backing vocalist for Jordan Rakei (Glastonbury, Love Supreme, Royal Albert Hall).

Looking ahead, 2025 will see the release of her 4th EP, ‘Chapter 4’, an introspective project about stepping into womanhood, confronting trauma, and setting boundaries. Her music blends R&B, Soul, Jazz, and Reggae, with heartfelt, relatable lyrics and catchy melodies.

"I like to make music that feeds both the musician in me and the little girl from North London singing karaoke in her room," Kianja shares. 🎤💫

Grab your friends, enjoy a unique and relaxed evening of music, great snacks and maybe one or three skilfully shaken cocktails 🍸

We look forward to seeing you, your friends and having a great evening! 🌟
